Gauloise 1 Verulamium White Ware fabric

Visual characteristics

A coarse, red fabric showing abundant quartz and occasional iron-rich inclusions covered by a white slip (Davies et alii, 1994).

Petrology

Different petrologically from the typical Verulamium Region White Ware in that it contains silt-size quartz grains with some mica (Davies et alii, 1994).
