Digital Object Identifiers

Comments specific to this amphora type

The fabric of variant C is white in colour.
South Byzancena fabric

Visual characteristics

Very distinctive fabric, carmine red, with numerous yellow microfossil hollows (Bonifay, 2004: 22). This fabric appears to be similar to the local domestic wares from the region of Rougga (near El Jem, southern Tunisia).
