Visual characteristicsHard, fine-textured fabric, reddish yellow (5YR 6/6 – 7/6) in colour with gray and white particles. |
PetrologyQuartz, limestone, potash feldspar, biotite, muscovite, foraminfera with some volcanic materials (clinopyroxene, volcanic particles). On the basis of the petrological analysis by Roman Sauer, the site of production should be located in northern Italy. It should be noted that in ´Porto Recanati` Fabric ’Ab’ resembles the ’Aa’ group of Schörgendorfer 558 amphorae. |
