Introduction

Ceveleand Farm Artefacts

Between 1984 and 1990 a series of archaeological investigations were undertaken in the area around Cleveland Farm, Ashton Keynes, Wiltshire (centred on NGR 40675 1945) in advance of gravel extraction. The Fieldwork revealed evidence for occupation of the site from the Middle/Late Iron Age through to at least the 4th century AD, with some indications of early/middle Saxon activity. This work has recently been the subject of post-excavation analysis and publication undertaken by Wessex Archaeology through an Aggregates Levy Sustainability Fund grant disbursed by English Heritage.

Ashton Keynes is located within the boundary of the Cotswold Water Park, with number of other archaeological sites are present in the immediate vicinity. Users of this resource may also be interested in the following ALSF archives:
