Type 24 pillbox, similar to UORN 9987 (J 49457333, SK - N - AF12) but of much better construction. It still has all the paving stone shuttering in place. There are no remains of either shutters or door. Part of the roof is still turf covered and there is the remains of what appears to be an airfield navigation marker on the roof, but this may be a later addition. The pillbox is sited right on top of a corner of the original sea wall and has a commanding view across the vast tidal mud flats and the airfield. Its main orientation is to the SE.
