Polygonal pillbox; brick-shuttered - faces S.
(Source: Field Visit 1989/01/01)
Polygonal brick-shuttered pillbox, at edge of field, on bank about 5ft above footpath. Faces SW (210 degrees). Rear entrance without embrasures. Steps with side walls to entrance. To the right rear of the pillbox is a brick and concrete structure about 4ft across with a 'gas pipe' set vertically in it. [possibly for a makeshift AA mounting?]. [apparently now identified as a spigot mortar platform - 14/6/98]. Some vandalism. SU/SIHG/CRS199.
