Pillbox built within a drum tower forming part of the outer wall to Kirkleatham Hall.

A drum tower set in the wall of Kirkleatham Hall was loopholed as a defence post. The loophole is now blocked in. It faced W across the road.

Defence grouping Kirkleatham Hall defended locality - Kirkleatham Hall from 1940 - 1943 served as a battalion HQ for units engaged on coastal defence. At one time during this period it was the HQ of the 7th Battalion Leicestershire Regiment. The Hall was provided with intensive all-round defence as a defended locality.
