Defence grouping GHQ Line: Blue - Section of GHQ Stop Line running from near Melksham to Reading.
Pewsey Wharf Bridgehead - The defences of Pewsey Wharf on the GHQ Blue Line. The defences were developed as a bridgehead to allow troops counter-attacking an unhindered advance across the Kennet and Avon Canal. During 1941 it was reclassified as a Category C anti-tank island.
