Defended house [Sector 7]. Cassini ref 698831
(Source: Document 1940/11/27)
The Kings Head Inn has blocked up tunnels in its cellars. This is said to have been a centre of communications and may be related to the underground brigade battle HQ at Sarre [see UORN 13476]. Second World War soldiers' letters have been found in the pub. There is a sign still visible on an outer wall that possibly reads 'Pay Office' with an arrow pointing into the courtyard.
