Type 24 pillbox, built within brick shuttering. Due to the nature of the ground, it has a large concrete raft as a foundation. A porch has also been added to cover the entrance. This is typical of all the pillboxes built on this stretch of the GHQ Stop Line from Highbridge to just SW of Wells. All are type 24 for rifles and brens.

Type 24 pillbox. It was made with brick-shuttering. There is a porch-type entrance protection. It is built on a large concrete base to stop it sinking into the soft ground. Some of the brick-shuttering has fallen away. It is partly built into the river bank, and guards the road bridge. [with sketch on form].
