This is a square shaped pillbox made from concrete blocks. It has a 4.5ins thick roof and is 76ins high with 6 embrasures measuring 16ins wide by 10ins high at widest point. It is fitted with a wooden door, but, as it is locked, there is no public access. It measures 99ins square over all. It is highly probable that this was one of a pair of pillboxes controlling a Fougasse defence on Porthcurno Beach. This flame defence system is known to have been sited on this beach, and there was a second pillbox (since demolished) sited on the E side of Porthcurno Beach opposite this one.
