Large square pillbox. [Seen from passing train].
(Source: Field Visit 1999/08/15)
Pillbox, which, as camouflage, had a tiled roof and attached canvas sheets painted to look like the windows of a house.
(Source: Article 1996)
Six-sided pillbox, two storeys in height, rising to be on a level with the rail tracks from its base at the foot of the embankment. Outer brick shuttering and a coat of render over the brick. There was an entrance [now bricked up] almost at ground level below the railway embankment. There was another entrance higher up on another side of the structure: this would have had to have been approached by a ladder. One of the embrasures on the upper level has been blocked up.
(Source: Field Visit 2000/03)
