Beach defence light. Red brick and concrete walls and roof. Red brick enclosed yard at rear. Retaining walls 2ft 7in high. Metal reinforcing rods approx. 1in diameter visible in concrete door lintel and in interior concrete beams. Rear entrance has only 4ft 4in headroom. Inside chamber are remains of wooden and metal door fittings. Seaward end of chamber has three sided bay opening that runs almost entire width and height of structure. Gravel floor slopes steeply towards seaward end giving headroom of 7ft at bay opening. There are two concrete supporting beams in roof. There is an 8in diameter hole, 5ft in from roof at seaward end. A rough outline of an irregular outer circle is visible in the concrete roof. A small rectangular window opening at eye level lies in the wall to the left hand side of seaward bay opening. As viewed from the beach there is a large concrete plinth and rectangular supporting structure with horizontal and vertical metal reinforcing rods. A supporting concrete pillar is just visible behind hollow front facade, which is only solid for approx. 1ft.
