Pillbox, no specification. Rectangular pillbox with long axis facing the road junction. There are 3 vertical embrasures in the centre of this wall.
(Source: Field Visit 1999/11/04)
Reinforced concrete rectangular pillbox, faced on the exterior with concrete blocks. It appears to the recorder to have been sited the wrong way round, with the entrance facing the road which runs some 8ft - 10ft below. On the far side of the pillbox away from the road, the ground rises steeply and would afford a very restricted field of fire. There is a low anti-blast wall freestanding in front of the entrance. The embrasures have been filled in, and, from the weathering of the concrete used for this purpose, this seems to have been done not long after the war. At a later date, efforts appear to have been made to open them up again. There are three vertical slots above and either side of the doorway which are presumably embrasures.
