Type 28 anti-tank gun emplacement for 6pdr. gun, dug into the hillside and built on a concrete slab. Brick-shuttered. Inside, there is still the gun mounting with 9 bolts.

Anti-tank gun emplacement, with a circle of bolts within the large embrasure. Very thick approx 3ft walls. One rifle or LMG embrasure on SE side. Large entrance NW side. Brick wall extends either side of back of pillbox to support a thick layer of concrete running from the base of the pillbox to about 5ft above the roof on the very steep hillside [protection against land slips?]. Chamfered roof and corners.

Brick-shuttered anti-tank gun emplacement dug into the steep side of Box Hill. One main stepped embrasure with 6pdr. holdfast. Entrance on NW side, and entry possible. LMG embrasure on E side. Contemporary brick and concrete revetment at rear to stop land slip burying the structure. Access possible from river bank.
