Seagull trench. A large well built trench [above ground] with twin bunkers sited centrally at the right angle of the trench (trench length is 15m). Both bunkers have arched roofs and evidence of having been turf covered . The trench is spacious with elbow rests on both sides. Brick shuttering with vertical iron rod reinforcement and poured concrete infill. Extensions of reinforcing rods in some areas may indicate that they were used for camouflage nets. Both bunkers have a pipe duct at the rear just below the roof, which may indicate command or sentry post status. Overgrown but in good condition. Probably sited to cover Comber Road and access to the airfield. Now within Department of Environment (NI) Waterboard property.
