Overview

County Durham and Darlington Historic Landscape Characterisation (HLC)

The collection consists of the following elements:

  • County Durham & Darlington Historic Landscape Characterisation (CD&D HLC) Final report - written by the HLC Officer on completion of the project, detailing the background, methodology and results of the project;
  • CD&D HLC Typology Report - the HLC officer intended to write this to accompany the main report, but time ran out, so this was completed as much as possible by the Durham County Council Historic Environment Record Officer sometime later;
  • County Durham and Darlington Historic Landscape Characterisation Provisional Method Statement - this was a document used to start the project, and suggest the methodology to be used for the pilot phase, and was based on the original project design;
  • County Durham and Darlington Historic Landscape Characterisation Revised Method Statement - this was an updated, working manual for the project, produced as the result of trialling the Provisional methodology in 2 pilot areas;
  • GIS SHAPE Files;
  • DBF Files
