Digital Object Identifiers

Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) are persistent identifiers which can be used to consistently and accurately reference digital objects and/or content. The ForSEAdiscovery project uses a comprehensive coding system to label its visuals and samples. The following abbreviations are used to create the code system.

  • A - Archaeology
  • V - Video
  • P - Picture
  • W - Timber number
  • S - Sample no
  • BAY01 - Bayonnaise shipwreck
  • RIB01 - Ribadeo shipwreck
  • MAG01 - Magdalena shipwreck
  • CEE02 - Cee shipwreck
  • YAR01 - Yarmouth Roads shipwreck
