Digital Object Identifiers

Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) are persistent identifiers which can be used to consistently and accurately reference digital objects and/or content. The DOIs provide a way for the ADS resources to be cited in a similar fashion to traditional scholarly materials. More information on DOIs at the ADS can be found on our help page.

Introduction

National Zooarchaeological Reference Resource (NZRR)

As part of Historic England (HE)’s Improving Sector Reference Resources project (project 7306), the aim of the Building a National Zooarchaeological Reference Resource (NZRR) project (project 7444) is to improve accessibility to zooarchaeological reference collections and facilitate zooarchaeological research across all sectors. Led by David Orton and Eva Fairnell at the University of York, a workshop was held in May 2016 to ascertain the needs of the zooarchaeological community. After the workshop and further consultation, curators of zooarchaeological collections were invited to submit their data for inclusion in the NZRR. As a result, the NZRR comprises submissions from universities, museums, the public sector and private collections. Further information can be found on the Building a National Zooarchaeological Reference Resource project page.
