Overview

The Digital Archive

The digital archive currently contains the following resources:

  • Jamieson, D. 2005: Severn Estuary: Assessment of survey and research sources and appraisal of the impact of marine aggregate extraction. Unpublished MoLAS report.

Resource Assessment report which details the background to the project as well as methodology, results and conclusions. The resource assessment is accompanied by two appendices containing all report figures (exported from the project GIS) and an archaeological gazetteer.

The project's strategic role recognises the value and importance of the marine archaeological resource within the estuary and aims to pull together the disparate archaeological sources for the area. The study's importance is heightened by the fact that the study area lies bewteen England and Wales and encompasses several unitary planning authorities, wiht no one agency having overall responsibility for the archaeological resource within the estuary.
