The Staffordshire Hoard is a group of primarily gold fragments of the seventh century found by a metal detectorist in the summer of 2009. This collection forms part of the outcome of the project Contextualising Metal-Detected Discoveries: Staffordshire Anglo-Saxon Hoard (Historic England Project 5892). The assessment and analysis project ran between 2011 and 2017. The outcomes were a book - The Staffordshire Hoard: an Anglo-Saxon Treasure edited by C. Fern, T. Dickinson and L. Webster, and published by the Society of Antiquaries of London as part of their research series in 2019, and this digital collection.
An initial release of the Staffordshire Hoard Research Reports mainly from Stage 1 of the project (2012-4) together with the Newsletters documenting progress was made in 2017. This 2019 release includes these and all of the material generated during the project.
