Overview

The ADS Digital Archive

The digital archive is an integral part of the reporting process and comprises all files generated in electronic format generated during the course of the project, and for which permissions have been granted for deposit.

The digital archive for the Thornborough henges Air Photo project currently consists of the following reports:

Summary of Management and Resources

This report introduces the aims and objectives of the project; to inform the English Heritage Conservation Plan and contribute to the National Mapping Programme. The report also introduces the geographical and archaeological scope of the study and lists the AP sources and methodology utilised in the project. The report also contains appendices listing the NMP / EH terminologies and thesaurus of site types utilised within the recording system.

Summary of Resources and Results

As well as outlining the archaeological and geographical scope of the project this report contains a comprehensive summary of the air photo mapping.

Non-ADS digital Archive and Publications

Copyright of the air photo mapping and associated records produced by this project reside with English Heritage. The project also produced four Autodesk Map 2004 drawing files, one for each whole quarter sheet. These have been deposited with the NMR archive. In addition hard-copies of each map, printed at 1:10 000 scale in colour have also been archived in the NMR. The records that were created or enhanced by this project are part of the National Monuments Records AMIE database.

The ADS do not currently hold copies of the Autodesk drawing files submitted to the NMR. All requests to consult the project data should be directed to the NMR at the address below and quote the relevant UID:
