Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
A primarily theoretical essay. Part I examines the assumptions that underlie traditional interpretations of Mesolithic data, in particular assumptions about the functions of microliths and the subsistence status of Meso groups. Part II summarizes the ecological background, emphasizing the edible output of different environments. This forms the basis of suggestions about the nature and distribution of Meso subsistence systems. Part III uses the data and observations from the previous sections to predict the nature of the 'transition' from Meso to Neo in Europe. CB | ||
