Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
Explores connections between the Neo axe trade and contemporary ceremonial monuments, as seemingly exemplified at Llandegai North henge (Class I, c 2750-2500 bc) where were burials of an unused Lake District axe and of an individual accompanied by an axe-polishing stone of Pembrokeshire origin. Several hundred years later Llandegai's importance as a focus of land and sea routes was being maintained when the S henge (Class II, c 1800 bc) was made. The inter-community trading contacts implied by the axe distributions would have assisted in cult development. | ||||
