Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
A forgotten manuscript and plan by John Ward (1908) throws new light on the find of an austere Celtic head in a shrine in Insula XI. It appears that the shrine belonged to House VII South, though in a remote corner of its property in 4th century. It is closely matched at Springhead (Kent). The Celtic head may have been a genius symbol, venerated by the pagan slaves of a Christian master. | ||
