Abstract:
Interview with Francis Pryor, whose latest book is about to be published. Topics discussed include broadcasting, the future for those embarking on an archaeological career today, and Francis's view that there is a culture of pigeonholing individuals within their research speciality. Francis now considers that he has retired or withdrawn from archaeology; he is a farmer, writer and broadcaster, although much of his work is still concerned with the study, interpretation and dissemination of the past. His next book will be about family life since the Ice Age. A short biographic note presents some key events in his life and career. LD
