Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
Charles Frederick's drawings of 1737 have been instrumental in relocating five of the missing bronzes of the hoard, four of which were found to have acquired false provenances. The varied histories of ownership of the Arreton bronzes are traced as far as possible and some general lessons about uncorroborated provenances drawn. For the first time the whole of the known hoard is illustrated together. Au (abr) |
