Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
Literary sources indicate that the scythed chariot was certainly used by Cyrus and Darius III; and five references from the west of the ancient world indicate that in 1st century AD the Britons were widely believed to use them. Although Caesar does not mention scythes on British chariots, and no archaeological evidence has turned up, it remains a possibility that they were used in exceptional circumstances. | |||
