Autobiographical account: the author's involvement with and contribution to archaeology from 1919 onwards included fieldwork in Lincolnshire, Treasurership of the Fenland Research Committee, and excavations, notably at Skendleby and Sutton Hoo. From 1947 to 1965 Phillips was Archaeology Officer for the Ordnance Survey and he outlines some of the problems encountered there. DG See also 81/7369. |
