Disputes the generalization (see 88/430) that ard marks under most prehistoric barrows are ritual in intent. The weight of Danish evidence is that a few random square metres of prehistoric cultivated fields have been accidentally preserved by the ritual act of barrow-raising or, in a few places, by other accidents of archaeological formation processes. | ||||||
