Abstract:
Reports the discovery of two large palisade enclosures, attached fence lines and a double circular timber structure at the edges of the Kennet valley bottom. It is not yet certain whether the enclosures represent sacred precincts, defensive strongholds or stockades around prominent settlements. Initial radiocarbon dates indicate that they will post-date Avebury. IH
