Abstract:
Three Mesolithic houses discovered in Avebury, the oldest occupation site in East Scotland at Crail (Fife coastline), medieval war casualty skeletons from the Battle of Towton (N Yorks). The `In brief' section (4) details an IA house at Scatness (Shetland), scorch marks in the crypt of Tarbat Old Church (Portmahomack) possibly representing a legendary fifteenth-century massacre, and a possible medieval look-out site atop Traprain Law hill (Edinburgh, Lothian).
