Abstract:
A potential prehistoric monument comprising a row of small stones extending for 700m has been discovered at Mynydd y Betwys, south Wales, where construction of a windfarm has begun. Although as yet undated, the row may be comparable to ancient rows on Dartmoor and would be a significant discovery in Wales, where such structures are relatively rare. The stones had gone unnoticed during an archaeological assessment of the area prior to the commencement of works. However, the Dyfed Archaeological Trust has said in a statement that the developer is ensuring that the archaeology is protected, in situ or by excavation. LD
