Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
A new exhibition soon to open at the Natural History Museum in London will showcase the achievements of the Ancient Human Occupation of Britain project, a 13-year project that began in 2001. This article discusses the work of the project and how it will be presented at the museum. The exhibition will include human fossils, original artefacts, and remains that illustrate the changing landscapes and wildlife through successive ice ages and warm intervals. Also exhibited will be a number of reconstructed human heads and full-size models of a Neanderthal and a modern human. Author Mike Pitts interviews the creators of the models -- the Kennis brothers -- and describes in detail how they were made. LD | ||
