Abstract:		 The remains of Hadrian's Wall -- a World Heritage Site -- are important for understanding Roman Britain, and are prominent in the international study of Roman frontiers. Two centuries of excavation associated with the wall have yielded a huge collection of Roman statutes, altars and inscriptions, attesting to military organisation, worship and domestic border life. This article discusses the NU Digital Heritage project at Newcastle University, which in 2014 set out to digitally scan objects from Hadrian's Wall in order to make them accessible to those unable to journey to see the artefacts themselves. The scanning process and some of the challenges posed by the museum settings of many of the objects are described here, and some of the benefits brought by the digital archive are outlined. LD
