Reports on the preliminary results of investigations which included a detailed survey of the island, partial excavation of the island surface and foreshore, and controlled searching of the lake silts around the island. Geophysical surveys and trial excavations were undertaken at sites around the lake (Llangorse Common, Llangorse church, and Llangasty-Talyllyn church), and some of this work was featured in the Time Team television series.
