Fine Resolution Pollen Analysis (FRPA) from this area has allowed an interpretation of a disturbance phase in the forest as being mostly due to the manipulation of the woodland canopy. There was no fire involved and the data suggest that it took place in the context of the Later Mesolithic or Early Neolithic cultures. Brief comparisons with other episodes similarly interpreted are made. | ||||||
