Outlines the history and contents of a manuscript book presented to Kilkenny Corporation by Alderman Richard Connell in 1693 and which now exists in the National Library of Ireland (as MS 2513). The book contains English translations of Kilkenny's charters (the originals of some now lost) together with a sixteenth-century exemplification of those held by the city of Gloucester. The book includes a short history of medieval Kilkenny as well as lists of the mayors, sheriffs and other officers of the city, culled from the city's Liber Primus and the now lost Liber Secundus. | ||||||
