Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
Identifies members of the family of Hugh the Clerk, recorded on cross-inscribed and coffin-shaped grave slabs at the Augustinian priory of Kells, Co Kilkenny, with individuals mentioned in various early-mid fourteenth century deeds of the Earl of Ormond. Hugh may have been the father of Theobald (Prior of Kells in about 1330), which possibly explains the prominence given to this family among the burials at the priory. | ||||||
