Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
Describes two broken coffin-shaped grave slabs of limestone which were reused as door stops and were found in a back garden in Kilkenny. One bears a floriated cross in relief with fleur-de-lis terminals, while the surviving portion of the other is undecorated. Both stones have partly-obscured Norman-French inscriptions in Lombardic lettering, and are stylistically dated to the late thirteenth/early fourteenth centuries. | ||||
