Abstract:
Describes the various features of this site (a sub-circular enclosure, the north-west corner of a ruined church, a square granite bowl, and headstones of eighteenth- to twentieth-century date) in Muckalee, Co Kilkenny, and records some of the lore associated with it. Asserts that the site and another early ecclesiastical settlement at Kilmogue were contemporary on the basis that a paved road had been unearthed between them in the early 1980s.
