Abstract:
Presents results of research into the metallurgy of these LBA hoards and discusses possible origins for the metals used and the technological advances seen. An 'S' metal, a typical Central European material not seen in British/French Atlantic regions until the Wilburton phase, implies a heavy dependence on Continental supplies until a resurgence of British metal coincides with deposition of the Wilburton hoards. An 'H' metal occurs in plate scrap and suggests a new metal distribution system, shortlived and late.
