Individual finds and discoveries 505-513\r\nDescribes, and in some cases illustrates, finds made in the county in 2007. Also notes geophysical survey at the (Neolithic) causewayed enclosure at Freston (Louise Martin), Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey carried out by English Heritage (Linzi Everett), and magnetometry survey at Wyverston which showed potential Roman structures (Helen Woodhouse).\r\n\r\nArchaeological excavations 514-534\r\nBrief notes on archaeological activity, ordered alphabetically by place-name.This included: excavation of Roman timbers at Barsham (William Fletcher, Kristina Krawiec, Tom Hill, Ben Gearey, Henry Chapman, Michael Bamforth); the excavation of an Iron Age or Roman timber feature at Beccles (William Fletcher, Kristina Krawiec, Ben Gearey, Henry Chapman); the identification of various lithofacies following cliff collapse at Benacre (Nick Ashton, Simon Lewis, Simon Parfitt, David Padfield); excavation of nineteen Early Saxon 'sunken featured buildings', an aisled building, and evidence for iron smelting and textile working, as well as four Bronze Age cremations, a probable Bronze Age crouched inhumation, Iron Age pits, and two possible Iron Age round houses at Hartismere High School, Eye (Jo Caruth); identification of Middle Pleistocene deposits and Early Palaeolithic artefacts at Flixton Park Quarry (D. Schreve, B Silva, I Candy, J Rose, GR Coope, M White, R Barendregt); excavation of Early Saxon 'sunken featured buildings' at Flixton Park Quarry (Stuart Boulter); the excavation of a Neolithic long barrow at Flixton Park Quarry (Stuart Boulter); the excavation of a multi-period (Iron Age, Roman, Middle Saxon and medieval, with Neolithic and Bronze Age lithics and two Lower Palaeolithic hand axes and a flake) (Jezz Meredith); investigations and some excavation connected with Old Abbey Chapel, Leiston (Stuart Boulter); a well-preserved timber revetment at Southwold (William Fletcher and Linzi Everett); and test pits dug throughout Suffolk as part of the Univeristy of Cambridge Higher Education Field Academy (HEFA)'s Currently Occupied Rural Settlements project (Carenza Lewis).\r\n\r\nBuilding recording 534-539\r\n\r\nNote on various buildings recorded; some are illustrated.\r\n\r\nChurch recording 540-542\r\n\r\nNote on recording work undertaken, in particular notes the recording of the inscriptions on the floor monuments at St Lawrence's Church, Ipswich prior to their concealment under a new floor (Stuart Boulter).
