Summary report on an excavation and watching brief at St John's College, Oxford in 2003, prior to construction of a new Senior Common Room extension. The excavation identified a late medieval soil horizon and pits, post -medieval quarrying predating the Baylie Chapel and the foundations of the free-standing kitchen block built in 1643. The structure and internal features of the nineteenth-century replacement kitchen were also recorded. | |||||
