Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
An analysis of the language used on curse tablets following on from R S O Tomlin's report (see 86/561). There is a discussion of the word order including details of verb and object position and the influence of Wackernagel's Law. Misspellings are frequent and need not signify the socio-economic position of the author as the majority of the population would have received little formal education in Latin. |
