Cogidubnus was probably Verica's heir, possibly brought up in Rome, and granted no more than V's original Atrebatic territories at, or soon after, the conquest. The extent of these territories is unknown, but Tacitus mentions an attack on socii, who may have included C, in 47, and archaeological evidence at Silchester (?part of C's kingdom) corroborates this. Historical evidence supports Bogaer's revised reading (see 80/7227) of RIB 91; and both historical and archaeological evidence suggest that C died during the 60s, probably later than the Boudican revolt.
