TF 320131; [SK 8446]. A terret of Leeds' Type II found at Whaplode is simple both in design and in enamelling; associated coin evidence suggests its arrival in the Fens in late 1st/early 2nd century AD. A bronze fluted Roman patera-handle with dog's head terminal from Dry Doddington has parallels mainly found SE of the Fosse Way. They usually occur with libation vessels in aristocratic burials; for all these examples a Campanian origin is likely, and might be confirmed by lead and tin analysis. A T
