Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report |
Known stamps, listed here, come either from the area of Lincolnshire and Yorkshire or from Scalesceugh and Carlisle where some examples are inscribed LEG VIIII H rather than LEG IX H. Imbrices from Yorkshire suggest, by analogy with a mortarium from Holland (whither the Ninth was probably transferred) that this practice was adopted at the tilery supplying York and Aldborough.
