Note on a photograph published in the Yorkshire Archaeological Journal 77 (2005), page 268, featuring a structure referred to as St Chad's Cell. The author suggests that, on the basis of the name, the architectural form and the sculptural detail, this was built from materials from the demolished apse of St Chad's church, Far Headingly, which was consecrated in 1868, having been designed in fourteenth-century Gothic style, and partly demolished in 1909, shortly before the photograph was taken. | |||
