The abstract describing the content of the publication or report
Abstract:		 The archaeological activity of the North Oxon Archaeology Group in 2009 consisted solely of an excavation on a part of the Roman settlement at Swalcliffe Lea that had not previously been investigated. This ran from March to October and was located 150 metres east of a building excavated by the Shipton Historical Society in the later 1960s. The 2009 work revealed evidence for one of the streets of the Roman village, which ran parallel to the main road, along which were seen a succession of buildings on its south side and the yard of another unknown building on the north. A medieval road with a metalled surface had been laid directly upon the Roman buildings. A hoard of 1,141 Roman silver coins found near the site of the Group's 2008 excavation at Warmington Roman and Iron Age settlement in Warwickshire is also briefly discussed in this article. LD
